Best Family Activities on the Sunshine Coast: Australia Zoo, Underwater World and Eumundi

The Sunshine Coast is one of Australia's most family-friendly holiday destinations, with a concentration of wildlife parks, beach playgrounds and cultural attractions that complement the region's outstanding patrolled beaches. Australia Zoo at Beerwah is the Sunshine Coast's premier family attraction and one of Queensland's most-visited, with crocodile shows, wildlife warriors presentations, a diverse animal collection and the conservation legacy of Steve Irwin making it a genuinely engaging education and entertainment experience for children. UnderWater World (SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast) at Mooloolaba is the Sunshine Coast's major aquarium with a shark walk-through tunnel, seal encounters and a large dugong exhibit. The Eumundi Markets, held on Wednesday and Saturday mornings in the historic town of Eumundi, are one of Queensland's largest craft and artisan markets and an enjoyable family outing for the browsing experience and diverse food stalls. Noosa National Park has walking tracks to secluded coves that are a genuine adventure for older children. The Big Pineapple at Woombye, one of Australia's most iconic roadside attractions, has reopened as a family destination with wildlife experiences, farm animals and the heritage train. The Marcoola and Maroochydore Surf Life Saving clubs run Junior Nippers programs during summer that introduce children to beach safety.
