Australia Zoo: Visiting Steve Irwin's Wildlife Park on the Sunshine Coast

Australia Zoo, founded by Steve Irwin and located at Beerwah in the Glass House Mountains hinterland, is one of Queensland's most visited wildlife attractions and a significant part of the Sunshine Coast's tourism identity. The zoo houses hundreds of species across a sprawling property, with crocodile shows in the Crocoseum, big cat enclosures, wombats, koalas, kangaroos (available for hand-feeding) and a large reptile house. Entry includes access to all shows and most interactive experiences. The zoo is approximately 30 minutes from Caloundra by road and about an hour from Brisbane. Pre-booking tickets online is recommended, particularly in school holidays.
