Art and Culture on the Sunshine Coast: Galleries, Music and Creative Spaces

The Sunshine Coast has a creative community that punches above its size, centred on the hinterland towns of Eumundi, Montville and Maleny as well as the coastal gallery and studio network. The Eumundi Markets are as much a cultural event as a market, with live music, street performance and artisan craft as consistent features. The Montville Creative Arts Gallery and the many studios along the Blackall Range drive showcase the hinterland's strong visual arts output. The Caloundra Regional Gallery on Omrah Avenue and the Noosa Regional Gallery on Pelican Street are the two main public gallery spaces on the coast. Nambour's arts scene has developed around the refurbishment of several heritage commercial buildings. The Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra and various chamber music ensembles perform regularly through the year. The Eumundi Brewery and several hinterland venues host live music events, particularly on weekends and during the winter dry season.
