Hiking and Walking Trails on the Sunshine Coast: From Beach Walks to Hinterland Peaks

The Sunshine Coast has an outstanding variety of walking and hiking options across its coastal, wetland and hinterland geography. The Noosa National Park coastal walk from Noosa Heads to Alexandria Bay is the most popular trail on the entire Sunshine Coast, passing through coastal heath, cliff-top lookouts and secluded coves on a well-maintained 10-kilometre circuit. The Buderim Forest Park in Buderim has a 2.6-kilometre creek walk through tropical rainforest accessible to most fitness levels. Mount Coolum in the Noosa district is a more demanding 1.5-kilometre steep ascent rewarded with panoramic views across the coast. The Glass House Mountains, 40 minutes south of Caloundra, have several hiking tracks of varying difficulty including the Mount Tibrogargan and Mount Beerwah summit walks, which are more challenging scrambles requiring good fitness and dry conditions. The Kondalilla National Park in the hinterland has a waterfall walking circuit popular in the dry season.
