Pitch a story
Contributor guidelines
- Local and specific. We publish stories grounded in the Sunshine Coast region, with named sources and verifiable detail.
- Original work only. Pieces must not have been published elsewhere. We pay a flat rate on commissioned features.
- Length: 400–900 words for news, up to 1,500 for features. Send the pitch first, not the finished piece.
- Photography: Hi-res (min 1600px wide), with caption and credit. Don't submit images you don't own the rights to.
- Disclosures: Flag any conflict of interest, including paid relationships with subjects.
- Edits: Every published piece is sub-edited. We'll send you the final draft for sign-off before publication.
- Reply time: 48 hours, always. If you haven't heard back, follow up — your email may have bounced.
