Falcons hold on at home
At the Kawana Sports Precinct, the Sunshine Coast FC under-21 side beat Brisbane City 3-2 on July 8, with striker Liam Hayes scoring twice inside the opening 25 minutes. Across the road at the same complex, the senior women’s team drew 1-1 with Gold Coast United, a result that keeps them third on the ladder. The Falcons’ victory drew 4,872 spectators, the largest mid-week crowd at the stadium since the 2025 grand final.
Numbers behind the round
Club officials reported average ticket prices of $22 for adults and $12 for juniors across the three home fixtures, generating more than $98,000 in gate receipts for the week. The Falcons have now won five of their last six matches at the stadium, where they average 18.4 points scored and concede 14.7. Next up, the men’s first-grade side travels to Norths Devils on July 13 while the soccer programs resume training at the Maroochydore Sports Complex on July 14 ahead of their weekend fixtures.
Coaches will review footage this week and adjust set-piece drills before those matches, with entry still available for $18 online until kick-off.
