Local data shows the airport added three international routes to Auckland, Singapore and Tokyo since January 2025, lifting annual passenger numbers to 1.4 million. The growth matches patterns in other mid-sized coastal hubs, but Sunshine Coast Airport kept landing fees flat for the second straight year while peers raised theirs by an average of 8 percent.
